How Education Affects Us All
Hello everyone! I just recently read an informative blog
post discussing about how education is key to our capital. Now, I don’t mean
capital city or capital letters. I mean your profit. I was confused about this
myself. I had to ask my teacher for help. We talked for a minute or two
discussing on how capital could mean someone’s wealth, whether socially,
politically, or income-wise.
Education can earn you money. |
This blog by Ashley Ambirge demonstrates that our economy is
based off of capitalism, a system of profit. She says that our benefit comes from education:
teaching us how to critically think, how to work independently, and to make our
own decisions. I agree with her because people that can’t think for themselves,
rely on others to tell them what to do. I consider this a form of slavery.
Think about it. Slaves were always told what to do, because
of this; they didn’t need to have think, which left them with no experience to
critically think. Now think about it in terms of today’s economy. It’s not
great, and is filled with many problems, left and right. When businessmen and
women have some problem that is very important, they may not know what to do
because they don’t know how to critically think.
Reading further into the blog, I noticed a paragraph that
completely shocked me. But the part that shocked me was very short. “More
knowledge = more labor = more economic value.” To me, this quote
stresses that the more knowledge you have of anything will get you further into
society and the economy. ON TOP OF THAT, you will have a lot more work ahead of
you. But, when you have/do both things, you get more value in the economy.
Which is great.
This seems like a lot of things to
comprehend on our fist-sized brains, but it isn’t. I just want to stress one
more thing.
Life without us hard thinkers would be
very difficult. This form of slavery will bring down small companies, to even
the government and all of the countries. When a country is threatened, if the
government does not know how to act, they would rely on others to tell them
what to do. During the time of colonial slavery, slaves were told what to do.
They didn’t think for themselves; instead, they had a mastermind give out the
orders.
